Seller terms
These apply on top of the Peer Junction Terms. You accept them before your first listing.
Who can sell
- You must be 18 or older and live in the United States during the beta.
- Paid sales need a Stripe account in your name. Stripe verifies your identity and bank details; Peer Junction never sees your bank information.
- You're the seller of record for your sales. You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
Fees and payouts
- Services: 8% of the price (5% for founding sellers, for 12 months from their first sale). Products: 5%. Buyers pay card processing on top.
- Our fee is taken automatically at payment. The rest goes to your Stripe balance and is paid out on Fridays after it has waited 14 days (7 days after 5 completed orders with no disputes).
- If an order is refunded, your share is reversed and our fee is returned to the buyer too.
- You're responsible for chargebacks on your sales. If a buyer's bank reverses a payment and the dispute is lost, your share of that payment is reversed from your Stripe balance, and the bank's dispute fee (currently $15) is charged to you. If you win, nothing is charged.
- If your Stripe balance can't cover these costs, Stripe may take the difference from your bank account, and we charge the backup card you keep on file. By saving the card you authorize those charges; it isn't charged for anything else.
- Anything still unpaid is a balance you owe Peer Junction. Selling is paused until it's paid.
Previews and who owns the work
- Work in progress you share as a preview stays yours. Send image and GIF previews with the preview option so they're watermarked; watermark video previews yourself.
- For custom work, the buyer gets the rights you agreed once the order is paid and you've delivered the final files. Until then, nothing passes to them.
- If an order is cancelled or refunded before delivery, the buyer has no right to use your previews or any work in progress.
- Deliver final files through the order (not outside Peer Junction), so the delivery and the buyer's downloads are on record if their bank disputes the payment.
What you can list
- Only work you made, or have the rights to sell. Credit and follow the licences of any open-source code or assets you include.
- Describe it honestly: what it does, what it needs (dependencies, game or framework versions), and what support you give.
- No malware, hidden backdoors, data collection the buyer isn't told about, or files that run on a buyer's computer (.exe and similar).
- No cheats or exploits for games that ban them, no stolen or leaked content, nothing illegal.
- Uploads are checked; a new seller's first upload and flagged files are reviewed by staff before buyers can download them.
Keep what you sell working
- For the first 30 days after you list a product, fix problems buyers report, or retire it. If it's broken in that time and you don't fix it, the buyer can get a refund.
- After that, updates and support are up to you. If you stop maintaining something, mark it "No longer maintained" with a short note, so nobody buys it expecting fixes.
- Buyers keep every file they bought, with updates you release, for life. You can change prices or retire a product, but not take back what someone already has.
- Each update is a new version number. Released versions can't be changed or swapped.
- Plans (support, hosting, services) are what you promise them to be. If you can't keep providing one, cancel it so buyers stop paying.
- Repeated reports that things don't work, or listing things to collect money without delivering, get your account reviewed by staff.
Keep it on Peer Junction
- Take payment only through Peer Junction. Don't send buyers to pay elsewhere, and don't offer discounts for paying off-platform.
- Give support in the purchase or order thread, so there's a record if something goes wrong.
Reviews
- Don't offer anything (discounts, extras, refunds) in exchange for a review, or for changing one.
- Don't review your own or your team's listings, or ask friends to post fake reviews. See the review rules.
When things go wrong
- Staff can pause listings, pull a product version, refund an order, or pause an account while something is reviewed. Every staff action is logged with a reason.
- Valid copyright notices count as strikes; three strikes closes an account. See copyright.
- Buyers who already paid keep access to what they bought, unless it's removed for malware, stolen work or a legal reason.
